2009 Honda GL1800 Goldwing Motorcycle Airbag Saves A Life

THE HONDA GL1800 GOLDWING is the first production motorcycle in Australia to be offered with an airbag as a safety feature, but since its launch in September last year, little has been heard.

This week, in the first ‘real world’ evidence of its worth, the technology saved a rider’s life in Germany.

“I crashed into one of the trees lining the street behind a small ditch,” the rider, 57 year-old engineer Willi Hansel, told the German press.

2010 BMW R 1200 RT And R1200 GS Announced For Australia

BMW MOTORRAD has announced that its updated R 1200 RT and R 1200 GS/Adventure range of touring bikes will be available in Australia from the first quarter of next year, bringing with them a number of improvements. For the RT, torque is up 5Nm, peaking at 120Nm at 6000 rpm. Power output from the 1170cc flat-twin engine is still 81kW, but it’s now delivered at 7750 rpm instead of 7500 rpm. The redline has also risen, topping out at 8500 rpm.
